Using Social Media to Increase your Website Traffic

|As a tool for web marketing, social media is fast turning into that ubiquitous force next to having a web presence. Even so, there are businesses who are convinced that these platforms are only temporary phenomenon. Perhaps the change of heart may happen if they’ll learn of the latest data showing that social sites may actually be coming of age now.
That’s because Internet users are inclined more than ever to spend more time accessing Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and the likes, said the latest report from Nielsen and NM Incite. The same report also revealed that users surveyed for this study are spending 20% of their total time online with their personal computer while those who access their social networks via mobile spend 30% of their time online.
Additionally, Nielsen and NM Incite revealed that there was also a marked increase in the amount of time people in the US spend in accessing these social networking channels through either their PCs and mobile devices. In fact, a 37% surge to 121 billion minutes as of July 2012 was recorded as opposed to the 88 billion minutes in 2011.
What the latest data showed is the undeniable growth of social web channels and the vast opportunities waiting to be seized in engaging users in a new, meaningful way. But first, we’ll define what social media marketing is.
According to Mashable, this type of online marketing may be defined as the process of gaining website traffic or attention through the use of consumer generated media sites. The efforts are mostly focused on the creation of content geared to attract attention and encourage users to share it with their online social connections. For businesses, the use of such online channels has proven to be an inexpensive endeavor to implement web marketing campaigns.
The principle of user engagement occur when a brand messaging spreads from user to user. There is resonance of the message during this process because the message appear to come from a trusted source like friends or relatives than when a user heard or learned of the brand message from the company itself.
Meanwhile, maximizing the impact that media optimization sites can have within an organization requires more than just partnering with a reliable and dependable internet advertising or marketing agency, it also pays that businesses will set its digital marketing goals and policies more clearly.
To reap the benefits of this digital strategy, businesses must believe with confidence that their use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and Pinterest, are investments to reach out their customers more directly. Just like in the business web development side of it, brands need to measure the accumulation of followers or friends, likes, and other metrics offered by the social channels used by the company.
Choosing a good internet marketing company who can show the way how best to use social and community-powered sites more meaningfully and not hurt their businesses must also be undertaken. Consider before signing a contract with your preferred digital contractor their grasp of the digital realms because some may still be missing the point why some brands are successful and effective. Simply knowing the techniques in using these social medium is never enough.
To cut the long story short, the formula is simple. Businesses must come up with a good product to sell or good service to offer. Every once in a while, companies can use these consumer media platforms to send out their message across their target users. But the key to winning customer’s admiration still depends on a stand out product or service. Consumers know exactly what they like and a tricky campaign will not compel them to click that like button. And the more that people will be engaged with your product and social media campaigns, the more that you can expect consumers to visit your website.
